[2010-02-09] 10th Anniversary of the Reunification of Macao with the Motherland
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Macao Post and China Post jointly issue the stamps with the theme “10th Anniversary of the Reunification of Macao with the Motherland” on 20th December, 2009.
This issue includes a set of three st... [More]amps and a souvenir sheet; the design concept of the first stamp includes the flag of the People’s Republic of China, the flag of the Macao Special Administrative Region as well as the Golden Lotus as its main pattern; the design concept of the second stamp uses the Senado Square and the Macau Tower as the main images, along with other popular tourist spots, thereby symbolizing the thriving tourism, exhibition and leisure sectors in the Macao Special Administrative Region over the years, as well as its development targets. The third stamp shows the fantastic coastal scenery in Macao, reflecting the charm of this international city, along with its socio-economic development after the handover. The souvenir sheet includes images of a blue sky and white clouds, symbolizing the fusion of Eastern and Western Cultures in Macao, along with images of Macao’s most significant buildings alongside the A-Ma Statue and the Kun Iam Statue as its background, in order to coordinate with the Golden Lotus pattern included in the first stamp. Through these small stamps we can see the thriving social harmony and prosperity of the Macao Special Administrative Region has gone through in the ten years after the handover. ... [Hide]
